Spring means many things, but most importantly, its the time when lighter garments and vibrant colorways start filtering down the line as is the case with the Goodhood receiving its first items from R. Newbold spring 2010 collaboration. We’re seeing some great potential in this drop, especially the double-layered chambray shirt and stripped parka (with removable hood). Although still in the concept stages of design, Svilen Gamalov’s ‘Cube Chair’ provides an interesting example of modern design and how intricately it can be envisioned in the digital age. The chair, which combines futurist design elements of the 1950’s with modern sensibility, is designed to envelope the user, creating a comfortable and stylized space. Ryan McGinley’s third solo exhibit ‘Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere’ is coming to Team Gallery. Opening on March 18th, 2010 the work showcased in Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere was all created in McGinley’s New York studio and is departure from his usual style. The open-ended study, of black and white portraiture, is accompanied by a new monograph published by Dashwood Books, which includes a conversation between McGinley and photographer Catherine Opie.
