Where is the scribble paper when you need it? Never ever around; and the same thing goes for pen and other stationery items! Not all of us are as organized as the Virgos who have prim-n-proper workspaces. Hence, a USB stick with a notepad to it is an AWESOME idea! Details like a plastic cover to keep the notes contained really impress me. I wonder if this will mean the demise of notepapers, or is this Digilog Memory the second generation already?

It’s a USB flash drive inspired by a turtle. Just slide the toggle to make the turtle head, I mean connector pop open. Pretty straight forward eh? It doesn’t do anything special. It’s just freaking CUTE. Look at the eyes! Hey, I’d buy it. One question tho; is it faster than a rabbit?

It’s a wicked world out there on the internet and everyday a new virus keeps surfacing, ready to harm your system. What’s creepy is that new ways of spreading mayhem keep cropping up. If it’s not via files, then sharing disks and USBs cripple our computers. U + USB Hub and Disk Scanner works in tandem with popular virus protecting software to safeguard your hardware. Literally saved by the Cross!

Check out this USB flash drive designed for Adidas to give to their clients and friends. Color me jealous because I want one! It looks like a miniature roll-on suitcase with the eponymous three stripes. I’m not one for novel flash drives but I know there are collectors out there so do me a favor. If you somehow come across these flash drives, go ahead and grab an extra one for me will ya? Thanks, Love you.

One of the limitations on notebooks is the lack of USB ports in proportion to the number of devices we would like to hook up. An easy remedy these days is the USB Hub, but YD won’t be YD if we showcased run-of-the-mill solutions! So here’s the Infinite USB – an alternative plug on devices that kinda acts like a tag team. The design speaks for itself, so no point elaborating, however what we can do is talk about its effectiveness and limitations. For starters I don’t think we may be able to tag too many devices one behind the other. I reckon max 3 or 4 before the tag starts to look awkward, but the color coding on plugs will make it easy to identify which plug belongs to which device.
What do you think?

Getting back to his roots, Designer Mac Funamizu takes inspiration from the Japanese Soma-Toh or a revolving lantern for this gimmicky Funny USB Memory Stick! Involved here is a transparent USB memory stick with alluring lights to represent facts. Example: no lights = empty stick; pink light = images stored; blue = documents & green = movies. And when the lights fill up the tube, it simply means memory is full. A delightful design, which is a tangent from the Swarosvki and gilded ones presently in the market.

“The face of Marrow is three people. But behind the scenes there are about twenty of us with a strong background in branding and design from all disciplines - from naming and writing, to print and packaging, to interactive and animation (not to mention music production, which is really what this is all about!)
We realized that it was essential for us to bring the same kind of inspiration to the branding of our own work as we would expect ourselves to deliver to any of our clients. Our first CD, ‘Quiet Desperation’, was beautifully designed, but it was still just a CD - and CDs aren’t enough anymore. Thinking outside of the CD case was liberating.
We started brainstorming knowing two things - we wanted our music on a USB drive and we wanted the packaging to be humorous - a bright, glossy coating to the darker themes of the music. After about an hour, the plans for ‘Sunshine Enema’ were fully realized - we would have a USB drive shaped like a pill nestled inside a pill bottle. Cotton and child proof cap, of course. The bottle would be sold inside of our own Marrow prescription bag, along with a t-shirt if desired. The bag would be stapled closed with our custom “dosing instructions” to aid any listener in how to use their new medicine, along with contraindications, common uses, and warnings to let the prescribed know that “There is no recommended dose. You are on your own.”

What’s the consensus, do you use external harddrives to keep your information safe, or do you trust the USB? Or GASP do you keep your important information on your computer itself?! This is blasphemy. This is madness! Your stuff can be totally accessed there! Don’t you know about the dreaded hacker gang Gonna Getchas? They’re harsh. Well! Designer Yun Hwan Sung has a handle for you. It’s called “Bill’s USB.”
What does Bill’s USB have to do with informations security? It’s a lock! Turn one knob, turn the other, and when the combination is hit, you may access the USB. Simple as that.
Oh and it’s a ring!
Quite clever, yes?

Ever picked that USB flash drive up and wondered, gee, I know I’ve got some super important stuff on here that I can’t get rid of yet, but I wonder if there’s enough space left for my new drunken bash photo collection? I wonder that all the time! About the space, not so much the drunken bash. But you never know! That’s what this design is all about! Check the percentage – or the MB! – or the name!
This super-simple USB flash drive device holds files. It plugs into your computer, really simple, and holds items like a folder would, helping you transfer from one computer to another.
But that’s normal! What this one innovates on is the display. Where most flashdrives are blank or just have the size of the drive printed on the side, this one has a display which shows the actual space left! Not only that, when plugged in, this lovely thang has options to change that display to things like percentage, names, symbols, lots o’ stuff.
How it keeps enough power to display these things when it’s not plugged in is beyond me, but may well be a super-secret guarded by this fantastic designer indeed.

Juice is quite the apt name for this multifaceted charger. It sports a USB outlet at one end, and two slots for charging batteries at the side. These side slots are called Air Holder and can hold two different sizes in battery for recharging. The main unit works as an AC adapter and stores “juice” for your devices. LED lights on the body indicate charge-levels and the whole thing is offered as a sleek ingenious mobile charger.
Cool to know that this design will be out in Japan and Taiwan early next year…US will soon follow.
